I’ve been collecting these documents over the span of a year.
The NARA catalog is down for “maintenance” and “search engine updates” currently (March 28, 2025).

And with the National Archives site down for the count, all research that depends on it as a resource is halted. It touches every single field of study imaginable.
For me, it was a treasure trove of information regarding Hurricane Katrina, helping me piece together a broken history, and I could not let that be taken away.
I’ve been downloading and preserving public access documents for over a year at this point, and after losing physical records in the disaster that was Katrina, losing digital ones was simply not an option for me.
I created my Katrina Database, in addition to other resources, and have been sharing these files for free on my Patreon for the public to access as needed.
I implore you to utilize this, whether you’re an economist, a social scientist, an environmentalist, an archivist, a historian, a medical professional, or just someone who wants to learn about the way this country works— there is something here for you.
I’ve compiled everything you’ll ever need to know about Katrina, all free here: https://www.patreon.com/daiquiriheiress. I have tiers starting at $1 for monetary support, but all public access articles will be free, forever.
